Become a Founding Member: aka, a share in our CSL--Community Supported Literature program.
I consider Substack a resource—a place where I can go and curate a diverse range of experts to enhance and inform my interests. I like to believe I play this same role for others. For the last ten months, I have tried to tug a bit on readers' curiosity, perhaps surprised some of you with a story or two, or allowed for a tiny peek “behind the curtains” of the publishing world. I have tried to avoid the standard publishing topics—there are plenty of columns on writing techniques, points of view, marketing, and submissions, so for the most part, I leave that to others. What I want to do is inspire and role model storytelling. To my mind, no matter your profession or what you hope to do, storytelling will help you!
For a long time, I purchased a share in a CSA — Community Supported Agriculture, where a smaller gardener would provide me a batch of food each week for the summer growing season. Using that model, I want to offer you a share in a CSL — Community Supported Literature. In Substack, this equals becoming a founding member. Here’s my offer: Become a Founding Subscriber and receive all the books we publish each year as a gift. If being a founding member is too pricey, consider subscribing at the standard rate, and I’ll send you two 2024 books of your choice. Click the button below to get started:
» What you get for your CSL share as a Founding Member: You will be sent what’s in the picture below. All ten books of 2024 and as many Substack columns as I can write in the coming year.
I hope you’ll join me as I enter my second year of Substack (and 34th year of indie publishing). Thanks
As of this writing, I’m an official member in good standing of the Iowa Writers Collaborative. After you subscribe to my substack, take a moment to check us out.
Write on!
PS: Don’t want this many books? Consider buying a CSL for your local library!
I should talk to you sometime. ....years ago I wanted to self publish.....but I'm way too tired now.....that was decades ago. I currently have 2 books in mind for as soon as possible.....Others later should I live so long....one a book I wrote years ago called A Beginners Guide To Sign Language For Agencies Families And Other Groups that I wrote years ago....I think all copies are lost but I'm going to rewrite it. Also a sort of Save The Monarch Butterflies Book. I've considered doing a Kickstarter campaign but I'm working on getting my Substack stuff further along first.
I've seen stories on your press before. Congratulations on all your successes.
You can get a sense of some of what I'm working on by looking at my Pixels Art print on demand website or looking at my Substack sites which is a work in progress.

Great idea. A perfect gift to your local public library.
